Nose: The immediate impression is of fleshy cherry fruit starting discreetly but opening to reveal layered red fruit with rhubarb, rye bread, mineral ginger and nori characters.

Palate: The palate follows the red fruit and rye bread theme with cacao, cola and cedar characters. The wine is seamlessly structured with powerful but finely textured tannins and delicate acidity with a long and elegant finish.

Fruit for Pinot Noir Four came from the main Pinot Noir and is made with MV6 fruit. Bunches were fermented in a stainless-steel vat with indigenous yeast and covered to promote carbonic maceration. Foot stomping was used to liberate juice from the bunches with traditional plunging later in the ferment. After extended fermentation the marc was basket pressed and moved to 100% new French oak. The wine was aged for 14 months with a single racking and no filtration or fining before bottling.
