Established by Mark and Fiona Horrigan, Pimpernel Vineyards is the realisation of a long-held dream to create an iconic Yarra Valley winery capable of producing outstanding, individual wines.

Work on the vineyard began in 2003 with the planting of the original Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Viognier vines. However, the next decade saw many new additions to the vineyard: a parcel of Shiraz, the Calcaire Vineyard, the Southern Rhône Vineyard and a small patch of Chenin Blanc. In 2008 the original Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Viognier vines reached maturity and Pimpernel Vineyards produced its first wines from estate grown vines.

Construction on the Winery and Cellar Door began in 2005 and was completed in 2011. The Winery was designed to facilitate traditional vinification and cellaring processes, including small open fermentations, basket pressing and the use of gravity for the movement of wine. Furthermore, in accordance with our domain approach to winemaking, all bottling, labelling and packaging is carried out on the estate.
