Rosé 2019

Following the success of our inaugural Rosé 2017 (Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah), the 2019 vintage bestowed upon us perfect conditions to craft another traditional rosé. This time made entirely of Grenache, our Rosé 2019 is a classic dry Provence style, a fusion of ruby citrus and vanilla, underlain by phenomenal acidity. Drink now, or hold for your next picnic.

Technical Notes

An early pass of our dry grown Grenache vines provided us with small fragrant bunches, ideal for rosé. Destemmed and crushed, the juice was cold soaked on skins with intermittent review of colour and phenolics extraction. After 22 hours of skin contact the wine had developed a lovely pomegranate colour, with an almost luminous quality. The free run juice was then transferred via gravity to tank and inoculated with a cultured yeast strain. Following fermentation, and a small amount of initial bâtonnage, the wine was left undisturbed on lees for eight months gaining a soft creamy texture juxtaposing the bright backbone of acidity. 900 bottles were produced.
